Sustainability Credit Risk Expert

As a Sustainability Credit Risk Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to assist Corporate Banking in developing a new Climate and Environmental-related Shadow Probability of Default Credit Risk model for the CB Main Bank portfolio. You will also interpret and implement our Client's ESG Risk Management framework for CB, translating it into actionable business requirements.

Key tasks include serving as the primary contact for various stakeholders involved in the new model’s implementation. This involves coordinating and providing input to Model Risk Management, fostering effective collaboration with other data departments, and ensuring the interests of the CB Client Unit are upheld.
 

You will be part of the young and rapidly growing Risk, Reporting, and Regulations (RRR) team, consisting of 20 members within Corporate Banking’s (CB) Sustainability Expertise Team (SET). The RRR team holds a central position within the organization, interfacing between internal/external stakeholders and business operations. The team’s priorities include:

Continuous, timely reporting of accurate sustainability data and KPIs.

Providing sustainability advisory on risks and regulations to management, corporate bankers, and customers.

Integrating sustainability into risk management.

Supporting the growth of the sustainable finance portfolio in the business.

To succeed in this role, you need to be adept at understanding both internal and new client data that must be sourced and collected. Additionally, you may occasionally support other risk management activities such as Risk Identification (CER Heatmaps), Risk Monitoring (Climate scenario analysis), Risk Assessment (CER climate stress tests), and various pilots. This position demands excellent stakeholder management, coordination skills, and the ability to engage in meaningful content discussions and comprehend quantitative frameworks and their application within the bank.

We seek a candidate with a strong passion for Risk Management and Sustainability:

• Education: Master’s degree in Sustainability, Information Science, Economics, Finance, or a comparable field.
• Experience: Three to five years of experience in quantitative topics, combined with Business, Sustainability, Risk Management, or Finance processes, including knowledge of model frameworks and regulations.
• Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of financial institutions, sustainability regulations, and risk management, along with knowledge of banking products, systems, work processes, and data management.
• Skills: Proactive, flexible, with a positive attitude and the ability to transform complex subjects into logical and manageable process steps. Strong execution skills and a focus on continuous improvement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
