ESG Advisor (Senior)

Our client is a prominent financial insurance company headquartered in the Netherlands, dedicated to safeguarding financial futures and driving sustainable business practices. As they continue to strengthen Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments, we are seeking a highly motivated ESG Advisor to their our team.   Job Description:   As the ESG Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing ESG strategies across the organization. You will be responsible for developing policies, implementing procedures, and advising key stakeholders, including business lines, management, the board, and supervisory bodies. Your expertise will ensure we align with regulatory requirements, enhance our sustainability impact, and support long-term value creation for clients and stakeholders.
  Key Responsibilities:  

• Policy Development: Craft and refine comprehensive ESG policies that align with industry best practices and the evolving regulatory landscape.
• Implementation: Lead the execution of ESG initiatives, ensuring proper procedures are in place and embedded within various departments and business lines.
• Advisory Role: Provide expert ESG advice to management, the board of directors, and supervisory bodies to drive informed decision-making.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to foster a strong ESG culture, facilitating cross-departmental collaboration.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Ensure accurate monitoring and reporting on ESG performance, compliance, and risks.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant local and international ESG regulations, advising on compliance and strategic alignment.
• Sustainability Integration: Partner with business lines to integrate ESG considerations into product development, investment strategies, and overall business operations.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate ESG risks across the organization to ensure alignment with our sustainability objectives.

   

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Sustainability, Environmental Science, Law, Business Administration, or Finance.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in ESG, corporate governance, sustainability, or risk management, preferably within the financial or insurance industry.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of ESG-related regulations, including EU taxonomy, Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), and other relevant frameworks.
